Epic resilience, but more later...

I'm too tired to write my next set of thoughts about resilience, so I thought I'd give you a sneak preview and fill you in later.  Keep the suspense up a little.... ;-)

Argh, I tried to upload a video, but it looks like the internet is too tired as well... so this pic will have to do...

  1. maia, i am really sympathizing with your pain and struggles. partly to "crawl out of the bush" but also to understand, first-hand, how "development" happens/impacts places that really don't need it or aren't ready for it...or are being coerced into it.

i am having my own personal struggles (which are definitely less drastic) and am finding solace in music. so i wonder if you have ever listened to the music of k'naan, a canadian artist who was born in somalia and who articulates loss and devastation (both in africa and in his canadian neighbourhood) with clarity and a good rhythm. from what i understand, k'naan is also an activist.

anyways, just a suggestion of a place to try and find hope and inspiration where you might not otherwise look.

  2. Thanks Liz. I LOVE LOVE K'naan. So awesome :-) I hope your personal struggles aren't too major and that the music is getting you through! Sending hugs!
